Programming & Testing
The LokProgrammer is a powerful tool used to load sound files onto your LokSound decoders, along with make any modifications to any ESU decoder. By using the free LokProgrammer software (available at loksound.com) and a Windows computer, the programming possibilities of ESU decoders are endless. A USB serial cable and power supply are included in the box.
The ESU Decoder Tester is a fantastic tool for the experienced DCC user. Nearly any decoder size and type can be plugged directly into the tester (see the 53901 Extension for large scale options). This piece of equipment has LED’s for each output, a motor with flywheel, and a speaker built in to help diagnose and test a DCC decoder. There are even screw terminals to attach a decoder with bare leads. This is a fantastic tool for those looking to install DCC into a fleet, or diagnose and program their decoders outside of the locomotive.
The ESU Decoder Tester Extension is for anyone looking to use a LokSound L or XL with their Decoder Tester. This board has 12 LED’s built in for aux outputs, and connections for all other decoder inputs and outputs. A 10 pin connector makes attaching this board to the Decoder Tester a breeze.
