This is a speaker upgrade for the Athearn Genesis HO ES44. It is specifically designed to replace the earlier run 28mm round speaker/weight design. Our speaker upgrade kit is a vast improvement over the factory unit, with much higher volume, more bass and better mid-tones. There is no cutting or modification required to the model; the speaker kit simply screws into place with the factory hardware.

Please note - this speaker kit only works to replace the 28mm round speaker/weight design from earlier runs. Newer runs may have a dual sugar cube design, which this unit does not replace. Check pictures for fitment.

Like with all our speaker kits, a 4 ohm resistor is included to wire in series for non-ESU installations.

This is a speaker upgrade for the Athearn Genesis HO GP15/T. It is specifically designed to replace the earlier run with incandescent bulbs; it may not fit the later runs with LED’s. Our speaker upgrade kit is a vast improvement over the factory unit, with much higher volume, more bass and better mid-tones. There is no cutting or modification required to the model; the speaker kit simply screws into place with the factory hardware.

Like with all our speaker kits, a 4 ohm resistor is included to wire in series for non-ESU installations.

This is a speaker upgrade for the Athearn Genesis GP38-2, GP39-2, GP40-2, GP49 and GP50. Please check pictures for correct fitment before purchase. Our speaker upgrade kit is a vast improvement over the factory unit, with much higher volume, more bass and better mid-tones. Driver is rated for 4 ohms, 2 watts. If using non-ESU decoders (SoundTraxx, TCS etc), the included 4 ohm resistor must be used to bring the impedance to 8 ohms.

Pre-soldered wire extends 50mm (2”) from the speaker module.

This is a speaker upgrade for the Athearn Genesis SD70/75. It is specifically designed for the “split-frame” style speaker enclosure which utilizes a factory 28mm round speaker. Our speaker upgrade kit is a vast improvement over the factory unit, with much higher volume, more bass and better mid-tones. There is no cutting or modification required to the model; the speaker kit simply screws into place with the factory hardware, and adheres with the included double side tape.

Please note - this speaker kit only works on the Athearn Genesis HO SD70/70I/70M/75/75I/70M with split frame style rear weight (see pictures). Newer runs (2020+) may not be compatible with this style. It does not work on the SD70MAC or other SD60/80 models.
